South Olive Elementary raises over $6000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!

This year, in a mere three weeks, the students, parents, and staff of South Olive Elementary have raised over $6,100 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Society helps children who are fighting the hard battle against Leukemia or lymphoma, two of the trickiest types of cancer to beat.

South Olive Elementary News: Florida Teacher of the Year Nominee

The teachers and staff of South Olive Elementary have nominated Ms. Kristen DeLuca, the school music teacher, for the Florida Department of Education Macy’s Teacher of the Year award. Results will be out at the end of the school year. Let’s hope it goes to our local nominee Ms. DeLuca!

Thursday March 13th: Science on Tap

Next Thursday, March 13th, at 6 PM The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium will be sponsoring a ‘Science on Tap’ event at  O’Shea’s pub on Clematis Street. Dr. William Bosking, Neuroscientist, will be giving a lecture titled ‘Visual Perception: How Our Brains Create the World We See’. For the price of a cup of coffee, beer or glass of wine, anyone can come and discuss science with a world-class scientist in a casual environment!

Saturday, March 8th: Evening on Antique Row

This Saturday, March 8th, from 6-9 PM the ‘Young Friends’ of the Historical Society of the Palm Beaches will be hosting an event on S. Dixie Hwy, ‘Antique Row’. There will be music, special entertainment, food and drinks, an antique appraisal tent, shopping, and more!
