March 1st: Opening Game for 62nd year of Phipps Park Baseball!
This Satuday at 9:00 AM, March 1st, Phipps Park Youth Baseball will be having its opening game. This year marks the Park’s 62nd year of youth baseball! West Palm Beach Mayor, Ms. Jeri Muoio is expected to be there, as well as City Commissioner Shanon Materio and other VIP guests. It should be a very fun event with food, a good crowd, activities, and a great game! Parking will be limited so make sure to get there a little early.

Every Sunday at 9:30 Yoga Path Palm Beach hosts a community Vinyasa class at Phipps Park. Bring your own mat, towel, and water and get ready for a relaxing workout under the beautiful Banyan trees. You can RSVP for the event here.
Race for the Arts 5K and Color Me 4K Fun Run/Walk on March 1st at Dreher Park
The 13th annual Race for the Arts 5K and 2nd annual Color Me 4k run/walk will be held Saturday, March 1st, at Dreher Park. The money raised will be used to support arts programs in Palm Beach County Schools. There will be music, dancing, student art work, raffles, and games before and after the race.
Cocktails and Conservation: Palm Beach Zoo Hosting Leadership Lecture on Feb 26th!
On Wednesday, February 26th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the Palm Beach Post will be hosting an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and great discussion about conservation. Mr. Syd Kitson, President and CEO of Kitson & Partners and former NFL player, will be speaking to attendees about his plan to build a solar-powered city, Babcock Ranch, in Southwest Florida.

At 7 PM on Friday, February 28th, the Palm Beach Zoo will be showing the movie ‘Rio 3D’ for its first ever ‘ZOOvies’ presentation. This event will be the first ever outdoor 3D movie event in Florida and it’s happening right here in the Southend. You won’t want to miss this!
‘Gems Rock!’ Night at the Science Museum
On Friday, February 28th, the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium will be hosting a gem and rock themed ‘Night at the Museum’ party for the whole family. Visitors will get the opportunity to look and learn about rare and common rocks from around the world. This Saturday: India Fest by the Waterfront
This Saturday February 22nd the Palm Beach India Association will be hosting its 11th annual India Fest at Meyer Amphitheater in downtown West Palm Beach. This festival will be open 11 AM – 9 PM and is free to the public. A very popular event, over 14,000 people are expected to attend the one day festival. Fishing on Flagler: Mangrove Snapper
Native to the Atlantic, the mangrove snapper can be found in a wide variety of habitats, including the waters of the intracoastal waterway right off of Flagler.
A medium sized fish, usually weighing between 2-10 lbs, the mangrove snapper, or gray snapper, is usually a greyish red color, but can change color from coppery to bright red. When seen from above the water, it appears to have a dark stripe running through its eye.
