Don’t Forget to Wear Pink February 26th – National Anti-Bullying Day

February 26th is National ‘Pink Shirt Day’ to raise awareness about bullying. Palm Beach County will be filled with pink shirts all day to announce that we will no longer stand for bullying in our schools and that there are ways we can prevent it.

After-school programs at the South Olive Community Center will be anti-bullying themed to provide education and coping techniques for children. Make sure you wear a pink shirt to show your support for this cause and make a stand against bullying. Continue reading

Upcoming Tournament at the South Olive Tennis Center

On March 8-10th the South Olive Tennis Center will be hosting its 13th Annual Jeffrey McIntosh Memorial Super Series. The event was created to honor the life of 8 year old Jeffrey McIntosh who tragically died during his parent’s murder-suicide seventeen years ago. It is a USTA  Sanctioned Junior Event for Boys/Girls 16s and 18s.

The Center also runs multiple USTA sanctioned tennis tournaments throughout they year. Their most notable event being the David Strage Memorial Super Series, which has raised over $43,000 for brain tumor patients and cancer research. The Center also offers residents the opportunity to join a tennis league or enroll in tennis classes, for both adults and children. The Palm Beach County Women’s Tennis Association also offers several teams to join that practice at the South Olive Tennis Center.
