Darbster Reimagines Vegetarian Cuisine

Darbster’s Parmigiana

Want to take a culinary dip in the world of vegetarianism, but don’t want to be stuck with salads? The Southend’s Darbster Restaurant has reinvented meatless cuisine with innovative takes on some of your culinary favorites.

Take their Parmigiana. Forget chicken- this version features panko-crusted gardein (a meatless protein) topped with daiya mozzarella and a rich san marzano tomato sauce, all layered atop semolina linguini with garlic bread and a drizzle of basil oil.

Darbster’s Sliders

Their sliders are meatless deliciousness on a bun. With char-grilled gardein, daiya cheddar, romaine, tomato, red onion, special sauce and a house pickle, they are giving burger joints a run for the money.

Darbster’s BLT

And lest we overlook Darbster’s signature BLT with smoky marinated tempeh, avocado, lettuce, tomato, sprouts, onion and vegenaise piled high on toasted rye bread. It’s the perfect crunch for lunch.

It’s time you took a bite out of this new, exciting world of vegetarianism. Stop by for a meal at Darbster and reward yourself for your healthy eating choices with one of the restaurant’s infamous brownies. (Psst…they are available to take home if you want to satisfy your chocolate craving in private.)

Don’t forget that Darbster Happy Hour is every night from 5-7 PM and you can receive 20% off your entrée at Sunday’s Happy Hour if you bring your four legged friend as your date.

Celebs Crave SoSo

James taylor

Sorry Carolina. Legendary singer-songwriter James Taylor was going to the Southend in his mind this past Valentine’s Day weekend.

In town for a concert to support the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at Mar-a-Lago Club, Taylor ordered a Cuban Steak Platter from SoSo’s own Havana on the night before Valentine’s Day using food delivery service Cravy.

Apparently, the meal was not enough to satisfy his Cuban fix. Taylor called back the next night for seconds. This time he sampled the restaurant’s Roast Pork with Yellow Rice and Black Beans and V-Day sweet treats of Tres Leches and Flan.

Taylor is far from the first celebrity to feast on some Havana fare. Past patrons have included Sofia Vergara and now husband Joe Manganiello, Martha Stewart and the Food Network’s Alton Brown among others.

Want to find out what’s luring them in? Stop by Havana and find out.
